About Chris!

    • Chris has had an active career as a recitalist, chamber musician, orchestral musician, and educator. He has studied with Henri Temianka Professor William Fitzpatrick at Chapman University's Hall-Musco Conservatory of Music. He is currently studying with Chloe Tardif. 

    • Chris has won 1st prize at the 2013 Music Teachers Association of California VOCE Competition for the ages 13 to 15 category as well as laureate prizes for 2014 & 2015 for the ages 16-18 category. He has also been awarded 2016 OC Artist of the Year Nominee as well as a recipient of the Barbara Benson Memorial Arts Scholarships, Erwin Johnson Music Award, and the Chapman Celebrates-Music Award.

    • As an orchestral musician, Chris has won positions for the Southern California Youth Philharmonic and Philharmonic Society of Orange County’s Youth Symphony. He is also currently a sub-list violinist for American Youth Symphony. Chris has won principal positions for the Beckman High School Chamber Orchestra and Tustin Unified School District Honor Orchestra, and a concertmaster position for the Beckman High School Musical Theatre Orchestra. 

    • As an educator, Chris has served as 1st Violin Coach Senior Division for Wildwood Institute for Music and Arts in 2017. Chris has also taught young students at Orange County Children’s Therapeutic Arts Center, Music&Arts Mission Viejo, Bee School of Music, and Irvine Academy of Music.

    • Chris has participated in The Chapman Orchestra and has served a principal position. He has also studied chamber music with William Fitzpatrick, Robert Becker, Christine Frank, and Dr. Louise Thomas. During much of his chamber music experience at the conservatory, Chris has collaborated with pianist Charlie Zhang on Beethoven Violin Sonatas 5 & 7 for numerous recitals at the conservatory.

    • Chris currently is on faculty at Empire Music Academy and runs his own small violin teaching studio in Orange County. 

    • Chris currently plays on a 1651 Mathias Albani Violin
